Palm Springs Preferred Small Hotels (PSPSH) is an association of 70+ independently owned boutique hotels located in the heart of Palm Springs, California. Each hotel in the group provides a unique and intimate experience, emphasizing personalized service, mid-century modern design, and local charm. PSPSH aims to preserve the cultural and architectural heritage of Palm Springs while offering a personalized guest experience. These hotels cater to a variety of guests, from those seeking romantic getaways to travelers looking for relaxing desert retreats.

Project Overview

Panoramic Brands, the Agency of Record, brought Mandzok Marketing into the PSPSH fold when they were less than a year old and entering a market dominated by national chain hotels. Facing stiff competition and the challenge of promoting smaller, boutique hotels in the summer heat, PSPSH needed a strategy to differentiate its offerings. To drive hotel bookings during the off-season and increase brand visibility, our agency was tasked with creating and executing a targeted paid search and social media campaign to highlight the unique features of the hotels, such as their pools, and boost conversions.

Messaging emphasized the coolness of boutique hotel pools to attract summer visitors. We also expanded targeting to out-of-state “fly markets” and adjusted seasonal messaging to highlight Palm Springs’ warmth in winter and relaxation post-COVID, driving increased bookings and visibility for the client.
